Merlin Hendy is a photographer specialising in movement and dance. Graduating in 1999 with a BA Hons in Editorial and Advertising Photography, he has gone on to work with a diverse range of design companies and clients, including the BBC, the Scottish Ballet, Ercol, Rambert Dance Company, Engine Service Design and The Times newspaper.

Merlin's work has been exhibited at the Atlantis Gallery, The Royal Opera House, the Roundhouse and the Theatre Museum.

Born in London to advertising and fashion photographer parents, Merlin had something of a fabled childhood, being raised within the community of artists and craftspeople of Balnakeil Craft Village. Life in the wilds of the Highlands was very much at one with nature, so much so that he once spent several months sharing a bathroom with a grey seal pup. A love of nature continues to define him today, something that informs his wildlife and landscape photography, the most recent examples coming from a working holiday across India and Korea.

Merlin is inspired by any and every location, and he welcomes new challenges.
